Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to HouseKeepr. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the HouseKeepr web application at housekeepr.app (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

2. Description of Service

HouseKeepr is a flatmate and coliving management platform that provides tools for shared expense tracking, task management, shopping lists, flat chat, document storage, polls, and more.

HouseKeepr is NOT a financial service, payment processor, bank, or financial advisor. We provide tools to track and calculate shared expenses and debts between flatmates. Actual money transfers between users are conducted outside the Service.

Free Plan

  • Up to 2 flats, 8 members per flat
  • Expense splitting, task management, shopping lists
  • Flat chat, debt simplification, basic activity feed

Premium Plan (EUR 4.99/month or EUR 39.99/year)

  • Unlimited flats, up to 25 members per flat
  • Receipt scanning (OCR), advanced analytics
  • Budget tracking, custom categories, priority support

3. Account Registration

You may register using an email and password, or through Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

4. Payment Terms

Premium subscriptions are processed through Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the end of the billing period. You may cancel at any time from your profile settings.

EU Right of Withdrawal

Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of your initial subscription purchase. By using the Service immediately after subscribing, you consent to the Service being provided before the withdrawal period expires, and you acknowledge that you may lose the right of withdrawal once the Service has been fully performed.

Refunds

During the 14-day withdrawal period, you may request a full refund of your initial subscription. Outside this period, fees are generally non-refundable, though we may issue refunds at our discretion for technical issues or billing errors.

5. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of all content you create (expenses, tasks, messages, documents, etc.). You grant HouseKeepr a limited license to use, store, and display your content solely for providing the Service. Content shared in flats is visible to other flat members.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Upload harmful, threatening, or abusive content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
  • Use automated means to access the Service without consent
  • Reverse-engineer or decompile the Service
  • Use the Service for money laundering or financial crime
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Sublicense, resell, or commercially exploit the Service

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is the exclusive property of HouseKeepr. These Terms grant you only a limited right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy. HouseKeepr is committed to GDPR compliance. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. HouseKeepr does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service. Expense calculations are based on user-entered data and provided as a convenience tool.

Consumer rights: Nothing in these disclaimers affects your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable EU or national consumer protection laws.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HouseKeepr's total liability shall not exceed the greater of: (a) fees paid in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) EUR 50.

This does not limit liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory applicable law.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the app settings or by contacting support@housekeepr.app. HouseKeepr may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be handled per our Privacy Policy.

12. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Disputes shall be submitted to the courts of Barcelona, Spain. EU consumers retain the right to bring proceedings in their country of residence (Regulation 1215/2012).

EU consumers may also submit complaints through the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

HouseKeepr does not mediate disputes between users regarding shared expenses, debts, or household matters.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time with at least 30 days' notice for material changes. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
